Welcome to our blog! We are very excited to update you on our new adventure... in Abu Dhabi, UAE!!! Sort of a long story. We originally wanted to move to Abu Dhabi. My recruiter called and told me about the opportunity to teach in a brand new private American school in Doha, Qatar. Once Josh and I researched the school system, GEMS, there was no question I wanted to be a part of this organization. I was hired to teach at that school in Doha. Well... The school didn't open as scheduled. Because of that, the government didn't grant a lot of us visas! They had to place us in schools in the UAE, and I got placed at GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi! It is amazing how God works! I am with the school I wanted in the city I wanted! I will be teaching English language learners. I have been here one week. It has been a whirlwind.
A great thing about being placed here is that Josh can come whenever! He moved out of our house yesterday. We hope he will be here in about two weeks. Please continue to pray for healing in his neck so that he is able to get on a 14 hour flight. The blog will have much better writing and amazing photos once he gets here!
I just got Internet at my house! I will recap the last few days and upload some pictures soon. I hope this blog serves as a window into our lives overseas. I have a feeling there will be many exciting things to come!
